Our Team

Mary Ellen Lopez, along with her husband Richard, is the owner of Mariposa Medical Spa and has been in practice as a nurse for over 28 years, a nurse practitioner for 24 years, and over 19 years as an aesthetic injector and holds the title of master injector.

She also has extensive experience treating patients of all ages with a functional medicine approach and uses many holistic options for achieving whole health. Mary Ellen has additional training in hormone replacement therapy for men and women, nutrition, fitness and personal training (NASM) and holds certifications for these specialties.

She brings this expertise and decades of experience into her care and counseling for clients. Mary Ellen speaks Spanish as well.
Mary Ellen was a recipient of the New Mexico Nursing Excellence award in Advanced Practice Nursing in 2005.
Mary Ellen is married to her high school sweetheart and they have three children together and five grandchildren. Her passion is fitness and nutrition and she practices it in her day to day life.

Richard is owner of our medical spa along with his wife Mary Ellen. He is a solutions architect at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He has made health and wellness a huge part of his life and shares this with his community.

Richard and Mary Ellen are high school sweethearts and have three children and five grandchildren. He’s an avid bowhunter and loves the outdoors.

Ariana Rutherford serves as Mariposa Health & Beauty Spa’s Social Media Coordinator and Secondary Office Manager. Born and raised in Santa Fe, Ariana is deeply connected to the community and is the daughter of Richard and Mary Ellen.

Following high school, Ariana proudly served in the U.S. Army as a diesel mechanic, an experience that instilled a strong work ethic, precision, and a lifelong commitment to service. After completing her military career, she transitioned into aesthetics as her “retirement” profession, combining science, wellness, and her passion for helping others feel confident—inside and out.

Ariana is a licensed esthetician and a Level 1 Reiki-certified healer. Prior to relocating to Nebraska, she practiced hands-on aesthetics with Mariposa Health & Beauty Spa. She now continues to support the practice remotely, managing social media and assisting with office operations while remaining an integral part of the Mariposa team.

Outside of work, Ariana and her husband Austin are proud parents to a baby girl child, along with two dogs and a cat. She enjoys the outdoors, reading, working on her own vehicles, and is an avid bowhunter. Cindy is the friendly face that welcomes you to Mariposa Health & Beauty Spa as our receptionist and newest licensed esthetician. With a passion for skincare, wellness, and exceptional customer service, she is dedicated to making every client feel comfortable, cared for, and excited about their experience from the moment they walk through our doors.

As a proud mom of three, Cindy understands the importance of taking time to care for yourself. Rooted in her faith, she believes self-care is an investment in both your confidence and overall well-being. Her warm personality, compassionate nature, and genuine desire to help others make her a valued member of the Mariposa team.

Outside the spa, you’ll find Cindy cheering on her kids at their sporting events or enjoying the outdoors with her family through hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature.

Bella is a high school senior and aspiring nurse with a passion for healthcare and helping others. As an intern at Mariposa Health & Beauty Spa, she is gaining valuable hands-on experience while learning from our clinical team. She looks forward to pursuing a nursing degree after graduation and is excited to begin her journey in the medical field.

Jinelle Goodwin will be on providing monthly wellness check-ins and personalized weight loss & nutritional support. Passionate about weight management, women’s health, nutrition, fitness, and holistic wellness, Jinelle takes a compassionate, individualized approach to helping clients achieve sustainable, long-term results. As a nurse practitioner student, she is committed to empowering others to feel stronger, healthier, and more confident through personalized care.

Remy is a Registered Nurse with over 13 years of experience in critical care, including CVICU, ICU, Neuro ICU, and vascular access, with a background as a travel nurse serving hospitals across the country. A former Charge Nurse and Team Leader, he’s been recognized with multiple awards for excellence in patient care.

For the past 2.5 years, Remy has focused on aesthetic medicine, combining his clinical expertise with an artistic eye to deliver safe, natural-looking results. He has completed advanced aesthetic training, including the SSRP Peptide Conference, and is passionate about evidence-based regenerative and aesthetic treatments.

Remy believes every treatment should enhance confidence while preserving each client’s natural beauty through personalized, patient-centered care.

Outside the clinic, you’ll find him hiking, camping, golfing, paddleboarding, playing softball or disc golf, or enjoying time outdoors with family and friends.

As a licensed aesthetician, I combine clinical expertise with a passion for self-care to help clients achieve healthy, glowing skin. I specialize in skin analysis, microneedling, dermaplaning, laser treatments, lash lifts & tints, and brow lamination & tints. I create personalized treatment plans focused on long‑term skin health and natural enhancement. Let’s build confidence together — I look forward to helping you love the skin you’re in!

Melissa and her husband Adan are blessed with two beautiful daughter’s. They enjoy the outdoors whether it’s hunting, gardening or quality time with extended family and friends.

McKayla is a Registered Nurse at Mariposa Health & Beauty Spa and has been a valued member of the team for over five years. She combines her clinical expertise with an artistic eye to deliver safe, personalized aesthetic treatments that enhance each client’s natural beauty. Passionate about patient education, McKayla believes informed clients make confident decisions and strives to create a comfortable, trusting experience from consultation to follow-up.

Known for her gentle approach and attention to detail, McKayla specializes in achieving subtle, natural-looking results that help clients feel refreshed, confident, and like the best version of themselves.
Outside of the medspa, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children.

Reyna is a bilingual Registered Nurse from Santa Fe, New Mexico, who is excited to begin her journey in the world of aesthetics. She is passionate about helping others and looks forward to combining her nursing background with aesthetics to help clients feel confident, beautiful, and like the best version of themselves while continuing to provide compassionate, patient-centered care. She is excited to start helping patients and looks forward to being a part of this amazing team.

In her free time, Reyna enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends. She and her husband also have a fur baby who brings so much joy to their lives.
